FIRST RAILROAD SQUARE BLOCK PARTY PRESENTED BY WRIGHT’S NUTRIENTS
Rock the Boat Productions and Wright’s Nutrients invite the public to enjoy a casual, laid-back community day in beautiful historic downtown New Port Richey. The Railroad Square Block Party takes place Saturday, March 12 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm and will be located at Railroad Square (Nebraska Avenue, between Grand Boulevard and Adams Street.) Local musician Corey Cottrell will be performing and a street market of vendors, offering locally grown and hand crafted items, local merchants, and community organizations will be found on the square. Games for kids and adults, including hula hoops, giant Jenga and corn hole, will be made available by Soulshine Family Arts Center. Participating restaurants, Rose’s Bistro, Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub and Johnny Grits, will be offering block party specials. The West Pasco Historical Society will be sharing the history of the area and key buildings in the downtown, including a special tour of the historic building that used to house the fire station and City Hall, and will also be hosting mini walking tours. The event is free to attend.
“We feel that historic downtown New Port Richey needs to be West Pasco’s downtown,” says Lia Gallegos from Rock the Boat Productions, “so we are throwing a good old fashioned block party and inviting everyone from the local community and surrounding areas to join us to see for themselves what New Port Richey is really all about. Welcome to the neighborhood!”
Rock the Boat Productions was formed by New Port Richey residents, Kira Atkinson, Kacey Atkinson and Lia Gallegos in 2015 with the intent to “be a pebble in the pond.” The trio develops events with an educational, cultural and/or environmental focus to encourage the growth of a connected, educated, informed and proactive community.
